FREE ZOOM EVENT – Why the Usual Wellness Advice Isn’t Working

January 27 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Photo of Dawne Schoenthal

Join NurseLearn and Dawne Schoenthal, Program Director for Oregon Center for Nursing, for a grounded, eye-opening session that explores five key occupational harms affecting nurses and caregivers today: compassion fatigue, moral and ethical misalignment, vicarious trauma, secondary trauma, and burnout. You’ll learn how to tell the difference between what’s manageable and what’s removable, and walk away with tools to respond, advocate, and feel less alone in what you’re experiencing.

Drawing on her extensive knowledge about nurse wellness, participants will be able to:

  1. Define and differentiate key occupational stress harms, including compassion fatigue, moral & ethical misalignment, vicarious trauma, secondary trauma, and burnout.
  2. Describe systemic contributors to nurse distress in community-based care and adult foster home settings, and identify strategies for partnering with employers to foster healthier work environments.
  3. Apply personal and professional tools for recognizing, responding to, and mitigating the impact of workplace trauma and stress.

This is a free, virtual event. We hope to see you there!
